Park Mead Primary

Park Mead School Uniform

We believe the wearing of school uniform promotes a sense of pride in the school and engenders a feeling of community and belonging, which we want our children to feel at all times when they are wearing their school uniform.

We seek the full co-operation of all parents in supporting our school uniform policy and the clothing requirements which are explained through the following information.

General

At break times, depending on weather conditions, wellington boots may be worn by Key Stage 1 pupils and training shoes by Key Stage 2. These must be changed for shoes in the classroom. We would ask that parents ensure that children only wear sensible, flat heeled shoes for school.

Please note that only plain stud earrings may be worn.  County policy is that these must be removed for PE lessons. We would ask for parents’ co-operation in this matter and suggest that any ear piercing is arranged to take place at the beginning of the summer break.

Long hair must be tied back at all times for health and safety purposes.

The wearing of make up, nail varnish or temporary tattoos is not permitted in school.
