The PTFA welcome new ideas, but more importantly we need help to implement those ideas. Coming along to a meeting, or helping out at an even doesn’t mean you’ll get stuck helping out every time, we promise!

There are loads of things that can be done just once or twice or as often as you are able and other things that are a bigger commitment, you can chose what works for you.

Some examples of the more ad hoc things you can do:

-       Sell cake raffle tickets on a Friday morning before school

-       Help out packing up sweets for the tuck shop, or help out selling at the tuck shop

-       Man a stand at the Summer or Christmas Fair

-       Bake a cake for a tuck shop

-       Sell refreshments at an event

-       Sell tickets to an event

You think you can help then either contact on of our committee members or class links (names below) or sign up to PTAsocial and just simply tick the job(s) you feel able to help with. It couldn't be easier!

What does the PTFA do?

Every parent with a child attending Park Mead Primary automatically becomes a member of the PTFA.  Registered as a charity, the organisation is run by a committee of parents with the aim of raising funds for the school.  We run several events throughout the year, such as quiz nights, race nights, a scarecrow competition, Christmas and summer fairs, plus an ongoing cake raffle and half termly tuck shops.  One of our biggest fund-raising events is the annual PTFA pantomime which is written, directed and performed by parents and pupils, both past and present.

Whether you can bake a cake, help run a stall, become a class rep or just want to come along and support our events you will always be very welcome.  Our aim is the same every year, which is to try and raise more money than the previous year!  We have a huge challenge, as we raised an incredible £12,500 last year and what makes it all so worthwhile is that all this money is put back into the school and directly benefits our children.

Where does the money go?

Over the last year, thanks to the money raised through events, the PTFA has provided the school with the following:

Tables & chairs for Upper School Group Room

/Castle building blocks for Year 2

Welly racks for Reception classes

...and lots more!

We have also pledged £10,000 to the redevelopment of the adventure playground area which is the grassy play area as you enter the school via the pupils' gate.
